NEWS: EVENTS
Alright guys, the story of the month has gotta be Hawk Call
Back in June we watched him destroy the Spartan Big Bear course and do damn well in the Broken Arrow trail race. And for July he’s back at it again. He goes out and wins himself a 28K Speedgoat race on Friday. Then wakes up the next morning and says, “You know what? I’m gonna crush this Spartan Beast too!”. And crush it he did, like it was an empty can of Mountain Dew.
And then we have Lauren Weeks. Jumpin’ around Hyrox and Deka events, simply dominating her competition. But then she shows up to this Spartan National Series race in Utah because it’s in her backyard. So, ya know, why not right?!?!
And we learn that Lauren can do it all. She cruises through the Utah mountains coming in first. Proving she’s more versatile than a Swiss Army knife.

Although Hawk cruised into 1st place in two of the National Series races. The Spartan management had to change up the rules faster than a chameleon in a bag of Skittles… They said, you gotta do all three races to qualify for that overall series and prize money.
Typical Spartan am I right guys?!?!
In the end, we had some hard charging athletes that covered all three races had their points added up.
We had Ethan Brown taking that Gold spot. Dustin Needham grabbing Silver and Tyler Powers with a solid Bronze on the Men’s side.
For the Women, Kaci Monroe came out on top with that Gold, with Julie Best and Jordan Hausladen right behind her with Silver and Bronze.

NEWS: ATHLETES
Well, we have some real heartwarming news this month.
Ryan Atkins and Lindsey Webster, that fitness powerhouse of a couple just welcomed a little bundle of joy into the world this past July.
With those genes, this baby is going to be a force of nature! We can’t wait to see what this little one does. It’s like they say, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”, and with these two, that tree is a whole forest of champions and medals.

NEWS: COMING UP
Killington is sneakin’ up and only 39 days away as of today.
Check out this post if you’re going after Killington or some other big mountain ultra.

2022 World’s Toughest Mudder Winner DJ Fox is going after the Colorado Trail Fastest Known Time (FKT) again. A 485 mile trek from Durango, CO up to Denver, CO. Last year DJ gave it a go and made it 426 miles before that trail said, “Not today, son!” and sent him to the hospital with a case of pneumonia nastier than my Uncle Jeb’s breath after a garlic-eating contest. But did that stop our guy?!?! Hell No!
He’s going back with a vengeance. He’s got a personal beef with every rock and tree out there and this time he’s going to crush the full 485 miles. So buckle up, cause we’re in for a wild ride watching DJ go after this FKT.

They’ve got Maryland, Georgia and Florida. September 7th, 21st and November 2nd, respectively.
With Ryan Kempson down with an injury and Shawn Roberts apparently living on the west coast these days. Who’s stepping it up and going for Gold this year?!?!
